The SMA Group
The SMA Group specializes in insurance for construction and real estate professionals of all types (craftsmen and construction companies, real estate developers, home builders, architects, design offices, etc.). The SMA Group comprises two insurance companies: SMA BTP and SMA Vie.
SMA BTP offers solutions for insuring the activity, liability and property of the various construction professions. It is also the insurer for a number of major emblematic projects, such as the Grand Paris project.
SMA Vie offers personal insurance, health insurance and life insurance.
The context in which SMA BTP contacted Infolegale
Compared with other types of insurance (home or automobile, for example), construction insurance requires specific technical expertise, linked to the duration of the insurer's commitments (10 years) and the sometimes high amounts of claims.
That's why SMA BTP needs to have the best possible risk assessment information before insuring a customer.
The SMA Group's needs
The SMA Group needed comprehensive data to meet two main objectives:
- To provide sales staff with legal and financial data to assess the quality and solvency risk of their portfolio.
- Monitor the entire customer base to anticipate the default risk.

The insurer also wanted to be able to enrich its data directly from its CRM in order to improve the commercial efficiency of its sales force by collecting key information on its prospects.
At the same time, the SMA Group was developing a website with a partner insurer, and wanted to optimize the user experience by offering visitors an auto-completion solution.

Infolegale solutions
To meet its legal and financial information needs, the SMA Group accesses the Infolegale Portal, whose data is updated daily.
SMA BTP also uses the Infolegale Solvency Score to guide its sales force in prospecting and signing insurance contracts.
The insurer has a tailor-made data update solution directly integrated into its CRM thanks to Infolegale Web Services. This tool enables sales reps to choose which information to update and which to keep.
Infolegale Web Services have also enabled the SMA Group to directly query Infolegale databases to automatically complete the information of visitors who fill in the contact form on the monassurancebtp.com website.
